On August 9th, 2025, Justice By Objectives had the privilege of joining Day Won Academy for their 3rd Annual Back 2 School Event at Centennial Park in West Valley City, Utah. It was an inspiring and heartwarming day, filled with community connection, generosity, and joy.

With free food, free haircuts, and free school supplies, Day Won Academy created an environment where everyone felt welcome and cared for. The smiles on the children’s faces said it all.

  • Honoring Service, Sacrifice, and Community

    Honoring Service, Sacrifice, and Community

JBO was honored to attend the Memorial Day Ceremony at Community Veterans Memorial Park in West Jordan, Utah. Surrounded by community members, veterans, families, and fellow advocates, we joined in a moment of reflection and gratitude for the lives lost in service to this country.

The day was filled with heartfelt tributes, patriotic music, and shared stories of courage and sacrifice. It was a powerful reminder of the cost of freedom and the continuing responsibility we hold to support veterans and their loved ones—not just in ceremony, but in daily action.

    💙 JBO’s Presence and Purpose

As an organization committed to trauma-informed justice and healing, JBO recognizes the unique and often unseen challenges many veterans face—especially those impacted by homelessnessmental health struggles, or involvement with the criminal legal system. Our team showed up to stand in solidarity, offer resources, and strengthen partnerships rooted in compassion, restoration, and accountability.

    🤝 A Community United

Events like this remind us that remembrance is not a passive act—it’s a commitment to building systems that honor service through equity, care, and dignity. We’re grateful to the City of West Jordan and local veterans’ groups for creating space where connection, healing, and recognition can coexist.

    🌿 Moving Forward

We left the ceremony inspired and recommitted to our mission: to advocate, educate, and support those navigating trauma, injustice, and reentry—including our veteran community.

To all who have served and sacrificed: we see you, we honor you, and we are with you.

  • JBO’s Community BBQ

    JBO’s Community BBQ

What a day! JBO recently hosted an incredible Community BBQ, and we’re still glowing from the love, laughter, and energy that filled the space. It wasn’t just about hot dogs and sunshine—it was about connection, healing, and solidarity among people and organizations doing transformative work across Utah.

    🔥 Showing Up, Together

We were honored to be joined by amazing community partners who share our vision of justice, recovery, and peer-centered empowerment. A huge thank-you to:

    • CaliSober Recovery Hub
    • YPR – Salt Lake City, UT
    • Kourageous Vision
    • Michelle Hunt Peacock
    • Odyssey House of Utah
    • The Other Side Donuts
    • DAY WON UTAH

Each of these organizations brought heart, purpose, and connection to the table. From sharing resources and personal stories to building new relationships, it was a beautiful reminder that we are stronger together.

    🍽️ A BBQ with Meaning

Of course, there were delicious bites and plenty of backyard-style fun, but what stood out most was the spirit of the gathering: people coming together without judgment, in support of one another, in celebration of community resilience.

We saw neighbors reconnect. We saw new partnerships spark. We saw folks who often feel left out be welcomed and celebrated.

This is what justice looks like—not just in policy or courtrooms, but in picnic tables, shared meals, and honest conversation.

    💖 Thank You, Community

To everyone who came out, shared space, told a story, or just enjoyed a brat in the sun: we see you and we love you. Events like this remind us why we do what we do.
